This page will contain tributes to some humans who have made Jackson Hole Horse Rescue a reality.  They have gone above and beyond the call of duty in helping our four-hoofed-bushy-tailed-long-maned friends.  (just my silly way of describing a horse).

Dori Hammond was a volunteer who donated hundreds of hours to helping the horses, especially old Shadow.  Dori was diagnosed with cancer.  Through the fight she came almost every day, sometimes two or three times a day, to brush Shadow and grain him.  Shadow was old; cancer made Dori old before her time.  Shadow was good for Dori and Dori was good for Shadow.  Dori, you and Shadow enjoy riding through the Clouds of Heaven.

Dori and Shadow ride the prairie with the Teton Range in the background.
